I wanted to share with the last verse to one of my favorite hymns by Charles Wesley, "Love Divine, All Loves Excelling"
Finish then thy new creation;I love this notion of the hymn at we are saved to be made new. We are not saved to be the same. Finish thy new creation. We are saved by our loving God so that we can be different than we used to be.
pure and spotless let us be;
let us see thy great salvation
perfectly restored in thee:
changed from glory into glory,
till in heaven we take our place,
till we cast our crowns before thee,
lost in wonder, love, and praise.
Today, if you claim to be a Christian, are you different than you were when you were saved? Are you allowing God's grace to daily work on you to make you into that new creation? Are spending time in prayer, allowing His grace to work? Are you spending time in the Word, allowing His grace to work? Are you spending time with His people, allowing His grace to work?
Jesus Christ did not come so that we could stay the same. He came to make us new. Finish then thy new creation. In each of us, may He finish His new creation and may we be restored and remade into His image.
