Old Testament Lesson

Daniel 2:17-30

We see Daniel in this passage give credit where credit it due. It is God makes mysteries knows. It is God that reveals such things. Not you, not me, not anyone, but God. I tell folks in regards to witnessing to others, you (or I) don't save anyone. God does. It is God that deserves the credit for the good that is accomplished in life, and it is God that deserves the credit for the good deeds that take place in our lives.

New Testament Lesson

1 John 2:12-17

We see that John is writing to all, telling them that they should know how great God's love is for them. He is writing to the old, the young, the experienced, the inexperienced. God loves everyone, and God can use everyone. There is not a person out there that cannot be saved from their sin and that cannot know God in a powerful and amazing way. No matter how old, how young, how anything. God can know and can love you.

Gospel Lesson

John 17:20-26

We see here the ultimate offer of our faith. We can be one with the Father and the Son and the Spirit. We can be united with them and drawn into complete union with them. This is where life is found. Not in the things of this world, but it is found in Jesus Christ, in God the Father and in the Holy Spirit. We can know God, we can serve God, we can have peace with God, we can life. And, this life is found only in God, only in knowing Him, only in being drawn up to Him. Only in Him, only there, is their life.
